Brief History

The Alliance Brass Band was formed in September 2000 by two ex-students of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama: Lewis Edney and Ben Ellin. The aim of the band was to allow students in London to play together in an ensemble that they might not otherwise have been able to experience. The band competes because of the enjoyment each individual player gets from working on exciting brass pieces, and performing them in prestigious venues across the country.

The band was originally conducted by Ben Ellin, who enjoyed a successful reign before leaving in 2003. In March 2003 we were conducted by Peter Parkes, who is also a patron of the band. John Clark is now our resident conductor.
